“La Rana” (Spanish for the frog) began as a simple mix-up. Decades ago, I was working in a Tex-Mex restaurant alongside two twin brothers from Central America. When I introduced myself as Ronnie, they heard “Rana.” I laughed and corrected them—“No, it’s Ronnie”—but they kept calling me Rana anyway. Soon the other servers joined in, and eventually my friends did too. The name stuck, and over time, it became a part of me.
I’m a native Texan—unfiltered, a little odd, and unconventional by nature. My style is whimsical and eclectic, rooted in storytelling and shaped by a deep need to find beauty in the unexpected. My expressive, sometimes frenetic personality tends to both delight and annoy people—but either way, it leaves an impression.
A demanding work schedule keeps me from spending as much time with my cello as I’d like, so photography has become my creative lifeline. It’s how I channel emotion, preserve wonder, and capture what might otherwise slip quietly away.
Thanks for visiting. I hope something in my work catches your eye, stirs your heart, or helps you feel seen.
